Return & Refund Policy
Effective date: 26 October 2026
This policy explains when a saree purchased from Mirabai Handloom is eligible for return or refund. It is in addition to, and does not limit, your statutory rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, and other applicable Indian laws — nothing in this policy takes away those rights, particularly where a product is defective or was not as described.
How to reach us
You can raise a concern by emailing mirabaihandloom@gmail.com or messaging us on WhatsApp. WhatsApp is preferred, as it usually gets you a quicker response.
Check your order promptly
Please inspect your saree as soon as it arrives. Any concern must be raised within 48 hours (2 days) of delivery. Requests raised after this window cannot be accepted.
When you can request a return
You may request a return for:
- A damaged or defective product — fabric tear, a major print defect, broken zari, or another manufacturing fault. Please share clear photos within 48 hours of delivery.
- The wrong product delivered — a different saree, colour, or size than what you ordered.
- A significant difference from the website's description or photos — a major colour mismatch, wrong fabric type, or misleading representation.
We do not accept returns for reasons outside these (for example, a simple change of mind), except where required by law.
Colour and texture
We photograph every saree carefully to show its true colour, but colours can look slightly different on your screen depending on the lighting when the photo was taken and your device's display settings. As each saree is handwoven, small irregularities in the weave, slubs and slight variations in texture are a natural part of its character, not a flaw. A slight difference in shade or texture from the photos is therefore not treated as a defect or a significant difference for a return; a major colour mismatch still is.
Conditions the saree must meet
To be eligible for return, the saree must be:
- Unused, unwashed, and in its original condition
- Free of stains, odour, or any alterations (such as stitching or tassel changes)
- Returned with all original packaging, labels, tags, and any freebies included with the order
How to raise a return request
Email us with:
- Your order number
- The product name and a photo of it
- The reason for your return
- Clear photos of the saree, and of the defect if applicable (please do not send the item back yet)
What happens next
We aim to review every request within 2–3 working days. If approved, you'll receive:
- A return authorization
- Return instructions (pickup or self-ship, depending on the logistics available at the time)
Once approved, the saree must reach us within 7 working days, sent via a tracked courier service so we can confirm it's on its way. Returns that don't reach us within this window cannot be accepted.
We only accept the item back once we've reviewed and approved your request by email — please don't send anything back before receiving that confirmation.
Refund amount
Where a return is approved for a defective, wrong, or significantly mis-described item, you'll receive a full refund.
Refund timeline
Once the returned saree reaches us and passes inspection, we process the refund to your original payment method (bank transfer, UPI, credit or debit card) within 5–7 working days.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our business practices or in the law. The current version, with its effective date, will always be available on our website under "Return & Refund Policy." Continuing to use our site or place orders after a change means you accept the updated policy.
